JUNIOR ENSEMBLE (5 - 17 YEARS OLD)

Workshop dates for Term Three are Monday 19th July - Saturday 18th September

Tantrum's after school drama workshop program is designed to offer young people the opportunity to creatively express themselves through performance in a fun and relaxed environment. Participants will increase their performance skills, develop their confidence, and make new friends along the way. We encourage all young people regardless of experience or ability to participate.

Our workshop tutors are professional artists and arts practitioners.  In 2010 the entire Junior Ensemble will work towards two major events: Play Time in term 2 and Wild Things in Term 4.  In addition the 14-17 year olds of the Junior Ensemble will work towards Treasure Hunt.  Click on the posters above for further information.

SENIOR ENSEMBLE (18 - 30 YEARS OLD)

We are excited to announce that we will be running a weekly drama workshop for people aged 18-30 as of Term 3!

This workshop will run every Monday night, 6.30pm-8pm, from Monday 19th July through Monday 13th September.

The workshop tutor will be local professional actress and teaching artist Karen Lantry (last seen onstage for Tantrum in Blackrock), and the nine-week program will be focused on character building and working on scenes and/or monologues, as well as:

* increasing focus, flexibility and 'readiness to act'

* expanding your repertoire of characters and knowledge of character building

* leaping into scripts with an eye for the details of interpretation

The workshop will be an exploration of drama skills styled to the experience and interest of the group. If you are new to drama and just want to have a go then we will be gentle; however if you want to expand your skills and be challenged then we will put you through your paces! Either way this will be a chance to play with how to approach character and script.

This will be a trial term program so its success and the decision as to whether it will run in Term 4 and beyond is up to you!

So if you're interested click here to find out how to enrol.

The cost for the term is $75, which is great value at only an average of $8.35 per week!  You will also need to pay an annual membership fee of $25 (if you are not already a member).

SENIOR PERFORMANCE ENSEMBLE

In 2010 Tantrum, in addition the weekly workshop, has a dedicated Senior Performance Ensemble for young people aged 18-30.

The focus of the ensemble is working towards three major performances throughout the year (click on a poster for further information), with rehearsals being held between two and three times a week.

A new Senior Performance Ensemble will be selected for each production throughout the year.    Participation in the Senior Performance Ensemble is audition based, and a new ensemble will be selected for each production in the year.

Places are strictly limited.  Audition times and dates will be advertised on our website no later than six weeks prior to rehearsals commencing.

The cost for the production is $75.   You will also need to pay an annual membership fee of $25 (if you are not already a member).
